Our ProjectWe gathered data of the Zink's property to know more about the land to hopefully influence the public and the people involved in the decision of the property. Some of the information will be used for analysis. We used GIS to map the trails on the property, the different ecosystems, and the creek. We also Identified defect organisms found in the creek. The ones we were able to identify helped us determine how polluted the creek is.

Reflection: StrengthsI really enjoyed mapping the ecosystems with Lilah. I enjoyed the tech component involved with physically walking around and collecting the data. Everyone who was involved with the internship was super nice and I really enjoyed learning from/with them. I thought we all did a good job collecting data, it's accurate. Throughout the internship at Durango Nature Studies I found out that I really enjoy using the technical stuff rather than gathering species.

Reflection: ChallengesI wish we spent more time working on the project. I felt like it was too spread apart for use to remember clearly what we did during the meeting before. I also wanted to do more complex things that would be changeling for me, so I would use my resources to learn how to do them. This internship has shown me how that I really don't enjoy working outside as much as I thought I did.
