Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
I used to listen to this song with my dad when every we were together. We always played outside with and many of my memories with my dad was under the classic Colorado sunset, with the reds and blues, with the passing rain clouds floating above the sunset. This song made me feel like I could do anything that I put my mind to.
The city park of the painting represents how people spend so much time isolated blinded by trying to be successful, always working too hard to make money. They have no time to take a look at the sky, and the world around them.
The girl represents me and the pink robots represent the expectations people for me have after I graduate highschool. College, a good job, make a lot of money. I am literally fighting and pushing back on the “pink robots” that have expectations for me.
My painting consists of a lot of washes, and layers to show the different emotions throughout the painting.
